Adjusting Serving Size

 

When entering a new recipe, the field "Serving" reflects the number of persons served or quantity the recipe will produce. Some examples are:

Starting the field with a number is important. This format will allow converting the ingredient list to adjust for different serving sizes.

For example, if the recipe for "Boston Baked Beans" serves 8 and your dinner party is for 16, select the Shopping List tab, Open List and enter the number 16 for the Serving Size.

Assuming the recipe for Boston Baked Beans has been Tagged, you can now click the 'Add Recipes' button to add the recipe to the Shopping List. The ingredients for Boston Baked Beans have been converted to serve 16 people.

You may add as many recipes as you like either all at once or one at a time.  The serving size can be adjusted each time you add a recipe.  Remember the recipe has to be on the tag list for it to be added to the Shopping List.

As ingredients are adjusted some error may be noticed  due to round-off errors.
