Use this procedure to upgrade Recipe Box versions 4.x, 5.x or 6.0 of  Recipe Box.

The safest and most reliable way to upgrade is to:

1. Export your current recipes to text files

- Use Recipe Box Import Format

- Create a separate text file for each cookbook

2. Install v6.4 into a different folder then the existing Recipe Box program

3. Start Recipe Box v6.4

4. Create new Cookbooks as in the old version

5. Import the old recipes into their respective new cookbook.

- Use Recipe Box Import Format

 

Do not upgrade by copying the database files from the old version to 6.1 or newer.  Version 6.1 implemented several changes in the database table structure which prevent them from being compatible.

Note: Nutritional information for individual recipes will be lost when migrating from 6.0 and older to 6.1 and newer versions.  V6.2 now exports the nutritional information for each recipes.
